Mylanthra House, a riverside heritage home, is a 75-year-old, well-maintained bungalow built of bricks, wooden ceilings, and roofing and flooring done with old clay tiles. The calm village atmosphere, in an area of 1.25 acres of land, full of trees and good breeze from the Vembanad Lake backwaters behind our homestay will enthrall you.
Small islands in the backwaters have shrimp farms and paddy fields surrounded by evergreen mangroves. We have our own Chinese fishing net which the guests can operate to catch fish. The fish so caught can be cooked and served by my wife Annie herself. We can arrange mechanized country boats for backwater boating for our guests. Houseboats tours (Day Cruise as well as Day and Night stay) at Alleppey backwaters can be arranged on advance requests from the guests. Come to Riverside Heritage Home for a wonderful, safe and memorable holiday.
Bed room size is 173 sq. ft. and bath room size is 50 sq. ft. Facilities include 24 hours hot water and broadband. We are providing bed rooms for our guests for their sleeping and privacy; guests can use our entire house like, living room, varantas, dining room, kitchen and all other facilities in our house and can freely move around in our big compound and enjoy the breeze.
Mylanthra House is approved and licensed as GOLD grade by Tourism Department, Government of Kerala, for homestay for foreign nationals.

The homestay's owners are Mr. Basil Mylanthra, 62, a retired senior marketing executive of an MNC and Annie Basil, 58, house wife and an expert in Kerala-style cooking. We treat our guests as our own family members and would like to understand different cultures of India and of the world. We assure utmost security, healthy environment in a calm and quiet atmosphere and a wonderful experience in Kerala.
