The river Periyar falls in the lap of Cochin backwaters, right in front of the Evol homestay, and viewing this event sitting in the roof garden of EVOL is a memorable experience. Evol Homestay is surrounded by prawn farms and paddy fields with green atmosphere with pollution free air as it is in an Island in Cochin backwaters. However the island (Chennur) is connected to Cochin city by fly over and road and also have frequent boat services to Cochin city which guest can available at a fare of Rs6/- per head. It takes almost one hour to reach cochin city by boat, and can relax during the journey, checking out the six small-small Islands, in the backwaters.
Guest can savour a village life in Evol homestay, living in the outskirts of the crowding city. The calm atmosphere and slow pace of life will lift our spirits. We provide lunch and dinner with fresh fish and prawns and also Kerala style vegetarian food on request of our guests. The towns of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry are close by, where guest can visit 600 year old Synagogue- oldest in Asia, Dutch Palace, and St.Francis Church where, Vasco-Da-Gama was buried in 1524, Chinese fishing nets, Kathakali- Classical Dance-Drama of Kerala and Kerala martial arts. The beautiful and most famous Cherai Beach is just 20Km away. Munnar, the hill station is 130Km and 75Km to houseboat ride in Alleppey backwaters, the Venice of the East.

Jerry Sebastian a Gulf returnee and is doing business in Cochin. Beena, Jerry's wife a home maker and an expert in cooking traditional Kerala cuisine. Both are well educated; speak fluent English, Hindi and Malayalam.
